It all began with strawberry syrup, which I used to make at home so that my kids could enjoy the sweetness of strawberry milk without consuming artificial additives and high fructose corn syrup. I would buy organic strawberries from the market and boil them in a pot, loving how the fruity fragrance filled our home. Then I would pour the juice through a strainer, add organic sugar, and boil down the mixture a second time. Although it took effort, it warmed my heart whenever my toddler would bring me his milk and ask me to mix in some syrup using his cute mispronunciation of the word "strawberry" — thus inspiring the name “Wäbry.”
From then on, we were putting Wäbry on everything — from ice cream sundaes, waffles and pancakes, to our all-time favorite — mixed with sparkling water and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. We've since added other enticing flavors but kept the original quirky name, so that you too can share Wäbry with your loved ones.
